My girlfriend and I just watched the Three Mothers trilogy for the first time. We both had the same opinions: great art direction, lots of creativity. She fell asleep before she could see Mother of Tears (3rd) but I watched it. It wasn't as good. Gorier, and in Argento's style, but it looked like any modern horror movie.
